Connoisseurs of Crime
Our Society is a club of 100 with a common interest in crime especially murder. It brings together members and guests who share an appreciation of the history of great crimes with a understanding of the many facets of associated criminology.
Members are drawn from various professions and disciplines including judges, barristers, solicitors, police officers, coroners, academics, pathologists, forensic experts, writers and journalists.
The club meets four times a year over dinner at The Imperial Hotel Russell Square where someone with expertise or involvement in a case speaks under Chatham House Rules.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was one of the founding members and his silhouetted statue continues to be the Our Society logo.
Sir Arthur's most famous character, Sherlock Holmes has appeared in many film and television adaptations.
In the clip below Our Society member and BBC journalist Tom Mangold traces Sherlock’s appearances with actors such as Peter Cushing and Michael Caine to more recent portrayals by Robert Downey-Junior and Benedict Cumberbatch.
